For those of you who don’t know, WordCamp is an annual event where WordPress users and enthusiasts gather to connect, learn, and meet other members of the WordPress community. There are workshops and speakers for a variety of topics and skill levels, and it’s an incredible opportunity to share knowledge and creativity with one another.
The WordPress community spans worldwide, but includes hundreds of niche local communities like the one in Phoenix. Every year I’m surprised by what I learn and the talented people I meet through WordCamp. All ages and skill levels bring something unique to the table and it creates a learning experience that I haven’t seen matched anywhere else.
I have only been attending WordCamps for 2 years, but I’m really excited about this year’s WordCamp because I just saw the list of speakers and its going to be incredible! It gives me an opportunity to connect with people in a city I love (except when I get stuck driving behind a tractor, lol).
My favorite WordCamp experience was, well last year was my first camp! I enjoyed speaking at the WordPress 401 presentation and thought I learned just as much from the campers as they did from me.
If I had to give a reason for out-of-towners to visit Phoenix for this year’s WordCamp, I’d have to say that in January, our weather rocks. I mean, why wouldn’t you want to be here? Plus we usually run an awesome WordCamp in Phoenix. I hope to see you all at WordCamp Phoenix this year. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. Or visit WordCamp’s website, Facebook, or Twitter.
